Ensure Good Eyesight To Pass Your Practical Driving Test
20 meters distance (5 car lengths) to be able to read car plate numbers. Failure to read will mean no driving test ! If you can’t read from 20 meters distance no test and you will lose your test fee as well !
It’s important to remember that at the beginning of your practical driving test, you will be asked to read a number plate on a parked vehicle.
If you are unable to do so, unfortunately, you will fail your driving test and your licence will be revoked.
In order to reapply for your driving licence, according to DVLA, you will need to have an eyesight test with DVSA at a driving test centre.
If you pass this test, you will still need to pass the DVSA standard eyesight test at your next practical driving test.
It is crucial to ensure that you have a good eyesight to drive safely on the road.

It is your responsibility to confirm with your driving instructor that they are available before making the booking. The average waiting time for a practical test through DVSA is at least 6 months, but Confident offers fast-track slots that can allow you to take the test much sooner. We have a network of ADI & DVSA-approved driving instructors and work with the learner drivers thoroughly. If you are test standard, we will book your car test anyway. Even if you have completed your course from another driving school, you can avail of the car test with us anytime. We will book your test shortly & beat the 6 months wait time.
When booking driving test –
We aim to book your standard driving test—automatic or manual—within two months. The £255 price includes the DVSA test fee, whether your test is on a weekday (£62) or weekend (£75). Please note, £255 covers only the driving test booking service and does NOT include car hire, which is a separate service. The car to be used on the test day is not included in this price.
**Important Notice Regarding Test Date Changes and Refunds**
– If you wish to extend your test to another available date, this may be possible. However, an **additional fee of £95** will be applicable.
– Please be aware that **if you do not give at least 10 clear working days’ notice** to change or extend your test date, you will **not be able to reschedule** according to DVSA regulations.
– **Cancellation Policy:**
– If you cancel your test appointment **at least 10 working days in advance**, you are eligible for a **partial refund of £62**.
– The **full fee of £255 will **not** be refunded.
– If you cancel **less than 10 working days** before your test, **no refund** will be issued, as per DVSA rules.
Please ensure that you provide sufficient notice to avoid losing any fees.
Please only book this driving test if you are test ready . This is your responsibility to ensure that you are test ready before you book this driving test .
Please note the price £255 this does not include booking car hire on test day as that’s separate service . The £255 is just test booking service only.
